Breasts .....

Yes I said Breasts.....

Breasts and Breast Feeding in Public.

When my three year old asked why the baby was breast feeding. I explained to him that's how babies were fed. He looked concerned and said "she's not sucking my boob!"



I fully support those moms that chose to breast feed. It's an amazing thing that we can do for our babies as women and I thought most people in this day and age agreed.
Only in a society where breasts are so sexualized that the sight of a woman feeding her child would be deemed inappropriate. When we feel it's ok to idealize the woman on the red carpet showing more cleavage than any mom I've ever seen feeding her child- Gimme' a break!

When is society going to GROW UP!


This being said I'm not a public breast feeding mama.. Oh I wish could be! I've practiced and mapped it out in my head how I would feed my child no matter where we were as to comfort/nourish her. It never worked out the way I planned and I would regress to a dressing room, car or back room. I honestly think it's my own sense of insecurity... so those moms that can, I root for you!

Go MOM Go!

I often frequent a baby board where we chat about our new little ones and was appalled to read a post of a fellow March Mommy! This outraged me and let me tell you that if someone tried to put anything over my babies head- oohhh watch out - don't mess with a new mom!

I read all of the responses to the posting and this really outraged me- all of which were mostly breast feeding mamas too! Some were overly concerned that the babies head was not covered by a blanket or what if their 13 yr old son saw or how could they finish a meal with a mom feeding her child.

Are you kidding me?

If you don't agree with the feeding of the baby in public- don't look, explain it to your child and move on BUT please DON'T ever try to COVER or touch another person's baby- EVER!!

Who Knew! Mommy can make BOWS

I sat down to make a few bows today for Georgia and ended up making 30! It's been a long time since I sat down and created a fun art project.

Even Georgia was shocked!

The 3am clock

 I'm starting to catch on with a pattern here. Every night my Georgia wakes up at 3am sharp and is back asleep by 3:15-3:20.

It has nothing to do with when I put her to bed..her normal bed time is 9pm and tonight it was 11pm. She also has nothing against time zone changes-still wakes up at 3am. We live PST and are in MST now- both places 3am

This is the second night I have actually stayed up past her 3am mark... I start to hear her rustle in bed about 2:50 and then DING DING 3am and she is crying for a feeding.

I find it very strange... How does she know it's 3am?

I realized today that my Georgia was addicted to her bottle...not any bottle but one funny bottle in particular. She cuddles the long tube caressing it as she sucks. It's so cute but oh so weird at the same time!

I think Georgia looks like a Kewpie doll and while cleaning her room I noticed one of my old dolls and thought... hummmm those clothes would fit her.

We can't leave Georgia in her bouncer, swing, or car seat without fully strapping her  in....not even for 1 second! She automatically stands up or sits up. We can't even leave her on the couch or bed- she will roll over-YIKES!!

Baby Blue Eyes- GENES?

Genetics is a weird thing and very confusing. Everyone always asks how we got a red head- Dylan has beautiful red hair. Both Richard and I have red heads further back in the family tree so I guess that is where Dylan got his Golden locks. It appears that Georgia may have inherited the Red hair too , only time will tell.

Breast Cancer Walk- Y-ME.ORG

We completed a walk for a friend through an organization called y-me.org (Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization has officially changed its name to Breast Cancer Network of Strength to better communicate its mission. Breast Cancer Network of Strength is strong, positive and trustworthy name and highlights peer support services available for anyone touched by breast cancer)
It was such a touching and wonderful event. We completed the walk with Dylan and Georgia and it was a great way to spend mothers day. We had an amazing day with family and friends. Here are some photos from the event
